I woke to my heart beating in my ear

Opening April 4 through the 27th, 2025 Se! Rum in Aarhus

I woke to my heart beating in my ear is a collection of images that weave together moments in my life that could be from a single day or from several years. In making these photographs I felt a distinct awareness of life and tenderness for the familiarity of the quotidien.  They track my steps through my home, walking to work, traveling to see my grandfather. All the images are familiar to me. I use the leftovers on the kitchen counter, see light hit the table or reflect in picture frames, I see light everywhere, and chase it.

se! is an independent non-profit exhibition platform for experimental contemporary art.

TidseltegnerenC - Guest artist

Reception at Besser Beach on Samsø

March 16, 2025 from 1-3pm.

Tidseltegneren is an independent and untamed collection of studies, assumptions, and facts about thistles in connection with a 5-year plant art project "The Thistle Corridor Samsø" starting in February 2022. The starting point for the work has been ignorance and a simultaneous curiosity about thistles. Their strange combativeness, both historically and in our cultural landscape, is enticing. The hope of these publications is therefore to share in this curiosity.

Tidseltegneren will be published in 5 issues, one for each year the Thistle Corridor has existed. Guest contributors will be invited to each edition.

My work for TidseltegnerenC will be alongside work by Lasse Krog Møller, Luis Andre’ Jørgensen, Astrid Gjesing, and Anne Dyhr.

The work included is a selection from Wading in waist high thistles and the field’s understory.

Det glider mellem vore fingre

Nalini Printz og Emily Louise Beresford

5 - 28 april 2024 with opening reception April 5 at KH7 Artspace

I woke to my heart beating in my ear is a collection of images that weave together moments in my life that could be from a single day or from several years. All the images are familiar to me. I use the leftovers on the kitchen counter, see light hit the table or reflect in picture frames, I see light everywhere, and chase it.

Breaking is an exhibition platform at the Fotografisk Center. Ung Dansk Samtidskunst ‘22

April 9 through June 19 2022 at Kunstbygningen Vraa

I’m excited to be participating in UDS ‘22 alongside the other 21 young artists selected for the exhibition. The two works selected for UDS ‘22 are a part of a group of self portraits I made during the first lockdown in 2020.  My work became more about home and how I was feeling, and trying to make sense of it through the things around me.

Lockdown no. 7 and Lockdown no. 5 were created during the lockdown of spring 2020, where everything was unknown, it was shortly after I moved to Denmark, and it felt extremely isolating having no idea when I would be able to visit my family in the US again, and worried for their safety as the situation over there only became worse with each day. It made me create photographs in a different way than I normally did, and let go of the formality that my photographs often have. My self portraits have become more emotionally tense and tender.
